This program isnt insyalled on the vm, it just liked to the exe on the server. When it loads it gets the "Error performing inpage operation" and it doesnt even start. We have another program that run from the server. Sometimes it works for 30 seconds, sometimes 3 seconds. We mapped the qb folder as usual, and qb even loads, for a minute. We have an older version that doesnt work with W7, and we are not buying new qb licenses just to get the never version. We created a few mapped drives like we have on the non virtual machines, and that worked great. Our goal was to run Quickbooks on these virtual machines. We can ping the server with ip or wins names.

We can connect to the server to browser shared folders, install programs, get online etc. Each vm has it's own static ip address in bridged mode. Got it installed, and created a few vm's. If anyone has any idea what I might be doing wrong here, or can offer any suggestions or articles to read I would appreciate it very much! Please ask any questions needed if I haven't given enough information to determine what's going on. I installed 2.0.2 from so I'm not sure if that's a version name issue or what it is, but anyways. I have the latest version of VMware Server I think.

I also found information in the User's Guide and a few other webpages, but these instructions include steps that include selection options that don't exist in the software I seem to be using. I have tried these steps but was unable to complete a few steps since I am actually working on VMware Server and not VMware Player. What I am trying to do is add a second network adapter to my virtual machine that is bridged with a second network adapter on my actual server. I'm sorry if the answer to my question is easily available but I was reading and Google-and-forum-searching for the answer almost all day yesterday with no luck. If I ping from the host to other machines in the network or to internet there aren't any time outs. I do not see anything relevant in the task manager (CPU/processes/memory). If I ping the machines from the host I get the following: The network adapters are in bridged mode.

Both virtual machines are running and I can access them through the console (or through remote desktop in the Windows Server) but it gets frozen for a few seconds every few seconds and it is very cumbersome.

I have installed VMware Server 2.0.2 on a Windows 7 Enterprise and created two virtual machines (Windows Server 2008 and Ubuntu 10). Probably not required, but I also turned on ip forwarding.Įcho 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward Iptables -L yields the same output on both hosts: Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I can ping the gw on 172.16.132.2 from the guest, but not the host on 172.16.132.1 I cannot ping the gw on 172.16.132.2 from the host either. The IP address of the vmnet2 interface on the host is 172.16.132.1, the IP address of the guest is 172.16.132.128. I can, however, not connect from the host to the guest and the other way around. I selected NAT for the primary interface on the guest and I can connect to the Interenet. I installed vmware server 2.02 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS server and installed a guest OS, also Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server. I have tried it a few times (and upgraded VMWare server to the latest version), with three different VMs - same resultĮxpertsExchange have a thread about this - someone else obviously has the same problem - but no solution unfortunately (also VMWare Host service then requires a restart) If this problem persists, please contact your system administrator. The server encountered an unexpected condition that prevented it from fulfilling the request. The server could not complete a request (HTTP 12029 ).

Guest built on : Mac Book Pro using VMWare Fusion 2.05 - runs fine on that platformĪdd the VM from via VMWare Infrastructure Web Access client running on localhost, default port 8333 Host : 64Bit Windows Server 2008 RC2 Enterprise

I am evaluating VMWare Server 2.02 and have come across this hiccup - its consistent and I've not found a solution on the net - I'd really appreciate a pointer here as its stopping us dead in our tracks
